Hunt Technology Piercing Wishbone

Hunt Technology Piercing Wishbone - a new wishbone concept.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: The PIERCING wishbones are an essential and solid tool and formed with superb construction technology. These will never flex and bend inward when rubbers are loaded and will last a lifetime.

The bail arm is made of AISI 316 stainless steel, cold drawn to increase its mechanical strength. The two end spheres are CNC machined from solid AISI 316 stainless steel. These balls are drilled and joined to the bail-arm by TIG welding that can directly melt and merge the ball to the crude rod without any additional material. Then the whole wishbone is pickled, which allows reactivation, after welding, of the antioxidant function of chromium in the AISI 316, avoiding desoldering and oxidation.

PRACTICAL ADVANTAGES: the "PIERCING" wishbone is available in three lengths: L1, L2 and L3 (lengths 1-2-3 where three represents the maximum length) to obtain, with various diameters of the rubber bands, the same ease of hooking it to the shaft.

Weight is insignificantly more than to a Dyneema wishbone, but life expectancy is endless. They are also very quiet in use, because the two cones of the rubbers where tie is made, allows only a small portion of the bridle material to be exposed. Being short there is never any contact of the bridle with the barrel, so producing a noise identical to a Dyneema wishbone.

What are the benefits?

It is very short but rigid, distances the rubber bands and allows you to have a sight where the shaft becomes the pointing guide for enhanced sighting accuracy.  Dyneema is excellent but because of its softness, the rubbers don't align but roll one over the other, making it more difficult to have a clear line of sight.

The most interesting feature is that with this new wishbone concept we can have a sphere with a diameter of 6 mm, very small compared with the normal 8 to 12mm spheres. This therefore allows you to have less bulging of  bands bulge near the tie, with a consequent decrease of friction on the shot which, together with low weight, which further improves ballistic performance.

With a tensile load of 90kg, any size of the Piercing can be used with any diamter of rubber without bending or breaking.

The width of the wishbone is 30mm, the length varies according to the model:

PIERCING wishbone L1 = 17mm length including the sphere d.6mm
Recommended for 14mm rubber bands but can be equipped as extreme wishbone on other diameters.

PIERCING wishbone L2 = 24mm length including the sphere d.6mm
Recommended for 16mm rubber bands but can be equipped as extreme wishbone on other diameters.

PIERCING wishbone L3 = 32mm length incluiding the sphere d.6mm
Recommended for 17.5mm rubber bands but can be equipped as extreme wishbone on other diameters.
